Buildings

I thought I will post a photo of the McDonald’s Drive-Thru in Batu Pahat.

We did not do a Drive-Thru, only a Drive-Past the area.

McDonald's Drive Thru in Batu Pahat

I noticed something about this photo. This Proton on the left bottom corner. The people inside must be a McDonald’s fan. He has the Big M sticker on the windscreen. I wonder if they just came out from the Drive-Thru.

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I have been quite busy and have not been back. Here’s two photos of the Square One Mall that my brother took few days ago. It looks quite empty at the moment.

But Parkson will be back in Batu Pahat after so many years. I remember Parkson Ria at the corner of Jalan Soga/Jalan Abu Bakar when I was a kid.

Parkson Opening Soon

Anyone has any photo/stories/news to contribute, you can email them to me.

Have a great start to 2009!

I was shopping at Carrefour the other day and saw that the building beside it is getting taller by the day.

Another shopping mall is coming up in Batu Pahat.

Square One Mall, Batu Pahat

Can BP sustain so many malls? It seems that BP Mall is not fully occupied. Wira Court’s closed down.

Larry who previously sent some old photos of Batu Pahat sent me this recently too.

Anyone knows where is this? The only info give is that it was taken in the mid 70s. Larry notes the contrast between the two houses.

If you have photos of the past you want to contribute, send them to me.

Everytime I am back in BP, I will definitely drive past this place. Why?
Because all the ‘jalan jalan’ in BP is one way!! To go to certain roads, you ‘die die’ have to drive past certain roads.

I tried to find out more info about this place, but it seems there’s not much info online.
Except that my previous Penyelia Petang in HSBP, Mr Lee’s blog has some info about it being the birth place of Lion Dance.

Here are some photos of Kwong Shiew Association. It’s a Cantonese association and it’s known for its Band.

Kwong Shiew Association

Look at the metal gate arch. I wonder if this ‘in thing’ in the era it was built.

Kwong Shiew Association

Another one of the many buildings in BP that when you look up, you see very nice designs and motifs.

Kwong Shiew Association

A long horn design. Is it related to their band? :-)

Anyone knows more about this building or history of this association?
