Getting Around

An update to the ‘bus stand’ photos on this page. We usually call it Bus Stand. It actually has a name!
It’s called Terminal Bas Ekspres Batu Pahat.

Terminal Bas Ekspres Batu Pahat

On Saturdays the Bus Terminal is very ‘lively’ and ‘loud’.
Why? Courts has a live deejay blasting and speaking very quickly for the last few Saturdays. The huge speakers are pointing towards the buses.

This picture was taken a few weeks ago, I was standing at the jetty along BP River, and took this shot.
Anyone knows if the sampan is a regular service or how to take it? I should have asked!

Across BP River

I was just thinking, maybe this will be gone in a few years.

Who knows… it might be transformed into expensive and exclusive riverside residences or restaurants like in Melbourne or Sydney in Australia or even like Clarke Quay in Singapore. Who knows…

This shot was taken just across the Pasar Besar, where I had KT’s Stall – Roti Prata.

I took this bus ‘Handal Ceria’ last week. They are known more as Causeway Link buses. I usually take the KKKL or Hasry service. But the KKKL and Hasry bus tickets were sold out. I had to look for other ways to get back, instead of waiting for another 2 more hours in Larkin to get back to BP.

So, I remembered the ‘yellow bus’ also has service back to BP. So, I bought their tickets. I realise I did not take the pictures of the interior. (too excited I think haha) The bus is quite clean. Sis also commented, look their curtains are clean too!

Some of the buses smell and the air-con does not work. But this one is good. Strong air-con and no stinko smell.

It’s suppose to be Johor Bahru – Air Hitam – Batu Pahat service, but the bus did not stop at Air Hitam at all. Just like any other bus service, from Air Hitam to Batu Pahat, when people request to stop, the bus driver will stop at the next bus stop along Jalan Kluang.

Handal Ceria

From this photo, you can get the contact details of the company. It costs RM8.30 from Larkin to Johor Bahru.

Hmmm this might be the most ‘cacat’ bus stand for the 2nd largest town in Johor. haha… If it rains that’s it lah! Run for cover.
This is how the bus station looks like in BP. It’s in the middle of a road. (Yes! middle of the road!) The road was closed and ‘converted’ into a bus station. “Oh! How clever!” *cough cough* *nak pengsan aku* I can imagine so many of you laughing now.
BP Bus Stand

Have you ever question why when the original taxi/bus station was demolish, in place was not a proper purpose build bus terminal but a tower block instead? Guess what! The tower block till today is not occupied! I shall now say more, I am sure you all have something to say. I am dying to read all your comments. LOL… (A temporary bus interchange, yes a temporary one in Singapore is more organised and clean)
Menara MPBP

The last time I was back was in December. I took the following few photos so that I can remember the phone number to book tickets. But I guess it comes useful now for all of you who wants to know their numbers.

Well, for those who have left BP dinosaur ages ago, the Hasry Express buses are now quite modern.
Hasry Express

For those of you who want their contact number, visit their website or if you are a bummer, here it is, the info all printed on the bus ticket. (or the picture above) You realise they are quite ‘environmentally friendly’? Same ticket re-used? It’s BP-KL or BP-Singapore ticket?
Hasry Bus Ticket

Wait, don’t laugh at the next picture. This picture is taken so that I can have KKKL’s (also known Translim) number. Yeah, this silly boy took it from inside the Hasry Bus I was in. That’s why so blur lah, but you get to see the number right?

After today’s post, I shall be going back to BP for Chinese New Year. I shall be taking lots of photos, if possible, and post them here. Eh eh eh, those people who put in their comments that they will send me photos, I am still waiting, my mailbox’s empty! Oii, cepat lah, mana dia gambar gambar yang kamu janji akan emel?

Wishing all visitors to this BP Site a very Blessed & Prosperous Chinese New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai.

Jalan Ibrahim is a name that exists in many parts of Malaysia. In Muar, Johor Bahru, Sungai Petani etc.

In Batu Pahat, Jalan Ibrahim is an amazing street as it transforms daily. In the day time, the streeet is turned into a “pasar siang” (day market). By around evening time, the stalls are all gone, and the road is open to normal traffic again, just like any other roads.

If you happen to visit Batu Pahat, you should not miss walking along Jalan Ibrahim. There are many interesting things to see. People selling vegetables, fruits, clothing, ointments, household stuff, dry groceries etc. You can get almost everything, maybe everything except iPods. haha..

You should also look up! Look at the roofs of these buildlings. The people who stayed have their own private patio on the roofs and they have lights as well up there.
