November 2007

From the last few day’s post, I am sure you can guess what I will be posting next. :-)

This might be the oldest Presbyterian Church in Batu Pahat. So, if you are visiting Batu Pahat and want to visit a church, you can visit this one as it is conveniently located in town.

The services here are in Chinese. The English Congregation has since a few years ago moved to Taman Bandar (more details in another post)

For those who have been away far too long, this is how the church looks like now. It has been renovated for a few years now.

Saving Grace Batu Pahat

It looks very different now right? I have yet to step inside. This is the main Sanctuary.

Saving Grace Batu Pahat

This is the Education Building, situated on the right of the Sanctuary.

On the left, is Agape Kindergarten. This is where I studied when I was a little kid!
Yes, my teachers, they are still all around, and I see them when I get back.

I am also compiling a list of churches in Batu Pahat, so email me details if you know. Thanks!

Two days ago, the blog post was about a Surau, today, let me post a Chinese Temple.

Actually, I do not know much about it either, thanks to Tigersden, who posted somethings here in the Forum pages (click the link), I get to know more about it. By the way, anyone can post anything on the Forum pages. Self service OK?

Here are some photos I have taken during the day.

Anyone has the listing of the temples in Batu Pahat? Would be useful to collect a list for tourist visiting.

This Surau has been around for the longest time.

Surau Arab

Would like to know more about this little Surau that has been there for the longest time. Looking into the fence, you can see a sign. It says Surau Arab. Anyone has details and history of it?

It would be nice to know history of buildings in Batu Pahat that has been around.

Anyone has a listing of Mosques and Suraus in Batu Pahat? Would like to create a page and have a listing of it.

There seems to be some raving about the best place to have soft boiled eggs in Batu Pahat in the Shoutbox. One reader (who likes to frequent this shop, and want to stay anonymous) sent me some photographs of it.

Here it is:
