It’s always nice to find your old friends. Puan Azmah Arif wrote to me telling me that she has found her classmates via the Batu Pahat blog. Guess where she found this blog? She found this blog from her niece bestfriend’s blog. The world has indeed become smaller with the Internet.
As more and more people drop comments here (and also the forum), others pick it up and contacted each other. From one friend, they got the contacts of other friends. She has so far managed to contact slight more than half of her 50 classmates! She hopes to be able to get in touch with everyone eventually.
Here are 5 photos from her. If you find the people inside familiar, (it might be your parents, your uncle or aunty,) leave a comment here or drop me an email. I will link you all up with Puan Azmah.
This is Standard 6 A in 1973 (first half of the year) with Mr Ng as the class teacher.
(The tallest is Peng Huat. )

This is Standard 6 A in 1973 too (second half of the year) with class teacher Mrs. Muthu.

After 36 years, they had their first reunion earlier this year at Puan Azmah’s house in Shah Alam on 7 Feb 2009.
(Let’s see if you can match the faces to the faces in the two photos above!)

A few months later on 8 Aug 2009, they met again.
This time at their class monitor’s house in Bangi.

Look how happy they all are!

Guess what? These people are quite internet savvy! I guess all Malaysians are nowadays. ![]()

They must have felt very very happy to meet back those small faces who sat in that classroom during those golden memory years.

Im also looking to meet back my long lost friends when we were at SMI Batu Pahat during 1971 to 75. Let it be a Chinese Indian or Malay when we say classmates they mean so precious to me. I just love to meet them back and bring back all those wonderful, sweet and funny memories back again. I may cry if I happen to see them again. If Allah could grant me a power (just a wild imagination only) I will ask 2009 to be backed to 1970 again. I don’t know how many of them still alive. My boys n girls if you read this please contact me. I am Ismail the boy from Seri Gading. We were in Remove class in 1971 SMI. Form teacher Mr.Chin.
