Dewan Jubli Intan Sultan Ismail
You can find a Dewan Jubli Intan Sultan Ismail in almost every town in Johor.
There’s one in Johor Bahru, Muar, Kluang, Pontian, Kota Tinggi, etc… and of course Batu Pahat.
Many events are held here, weddings, exhibitions, singing competitions etc….
I remember my younger sis joining a singing competition here, I think it was organised by Yamaha Music School which was under Me Sing Music Centre. She sang “Doe a Deer, a female deer” from The Sound of Music. I think she won too!

Dunno much of the history on this building, but do remember Asia Nightclub jus’ opposite the Dewan. When I graduated from SBH’s Milk Bar, I frequently got my Calsberg fixes & learnt to jive away the nites there………:)
